Barrie Bowers
Barrie B. Bowers is an attorney with in-house experience for a major apartment real estate investment trust who understands the needs of property management and other real estate companies. She has extensive experience in a full range of property management issues, real estate transactions, outdoor advertising, and landlord-tenant and fair housing laws, including representing clients before the Virginia Real Estate and Fair Housing Boards.
Barrie provides in-house training on a broad range of property management legal issues and has expertise in negotiation of contracts with providers of voice, data and video including cable and telephone companies. For real estate clients, Barrie regularly handles sales, acquisition and other property transactions, ranging from easements to single asset purchases to portfolio transactions. Barrie’s diligent approach from the beginning to end of any project helps maintain a focus on the finish line, while anticipating and attending to the details of the project along the way.
Grimes Creasy
Grimes joined JAMlaw in August of 1995 after several years with a large firm in Richmond. Grimes’ legal practice spans a wide spectrum of practice areas, including commercial litigation, fair housing, landlord and tenant litigation (commercial and residential), trucking law, FELA, and insurance defense cases.
Grimes represents car dealerships, dairy farmers, property management companies, and businesses of all sizes, both here in the Roanoke Valley and throughout the Commonwealth. Grimes has successfully tried and defended numerous federal and state court cases, and he has been instrumental in the drafting and interpreting the Virginia Residential Landlord and Tenant Act.

Laura Murray
Laura Murray joined the Virginia REALTORS® staff in July 2014. Laura received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maryland, College Park where she majored in Government & Politics and minored in English. She received her Juris Doctorate in 2011, with a special regulatory law certificate, from George Mason University School of Law.
Laura serves as the General Counsel for Virginia REALTORS® and oversees all legal resources and matters for the association. Before joining Virginia REALTORS®, Laura was a Staff Attorney at the Northern Virginia Association of REALTORS for three years.
